Bridging Histories Summer School Workshop

For the last two years as a Bridging History Ambassador I have provided a workshop for the students during the Bridging Histories Summer School. Here I share in my artistic journey, the history of my families activism and how this inspired the creation of Coe Gallery. The aim of the workshop is to encourage connection to land or self, values I've learnt from my Wiradjuri heritage. We finished by joining in a creative activity, thinking quietly of a place where we last felt deeply connected to the Earth, to the land and to ourselves. With this place in mind we then painted this, in any form or vision of expression. At the end of the lecture, each student was invited to share their place of connection. It was a real honour to hear their stories.
